Prof. Dr. Aşkın ASAN
Prof. Dr. Aşkın Asan was born in Trabzon, Turkey, in 1965. She graduated first in the Class of 1983 from the Of Şehit Ahmet Türkkan High School. In 1989, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Islamic Studies from the Riyadh College of Education in KSA. In 1990, she was awarded a Turkish American Association Scholarship and attended the College of Education at Texas Tech University,USA, where she received her Master degree in Educational Technology in 1992. She received her doctoral degree from Ondokuzmayıs University in 1998. She became an associate professor in Educational Technology in 2005 at Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey.
She worked as visiting professor in Ajman University of Science and Technology between 2002-2004 and Sultan Qaboos University as a associate professor between 2005-2007.
At the general elections held on 22 July 2007, she was elected from Ankara as a Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
She served as a vice president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, a member of Turkish Delegation of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference and member of National Education Committee during her Parliamentary duty. She also served as a Vice Chairman of Research and Development Department of the ruling Justice and Development Party.
She appointed as Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policies between 2011-2014.
She is rector of Avrasya University since 2014.
She is married and mother of three children.
